During the first freezing temperatures of the season, a first time mamma goat decided she would give birth to her baby. Normally, I will move my goat moms to the birthing room, keep an eye on them, and let them deliver naturally on their own. But this time, mamma needed some help. So I decided I would film and explain the process. (Don’t worry I don’t show any graphic labor video). I hope you enjoy and learn about another role farmers play on the farm when they own livestock. (Note: There are a few spots in the video where mamma gets a little loud laboring).
